Taskia dedicates Freeness to children

There has been national outrage about the increase in violence against children in Jamaica. Singer Taskia is among the concerned, and she expresses her feelings in the song, Freeness. “The song is really about providing a safe place for the children to grow, while facilitating the channels for them to be whatever it is that they aspire,” Taskia explained.

In recent years, a number of children have been reported missing, while others have been killed by criminals or in domestic disputes. Taskia believes Freeness sends a message to people who have intentions to harm children.

“Since we released the video for the song, the response has been overwhelming. I have even seen more followers on my social media and the comments have been very positive. This has motivated me to continue to do more positive music,” she said.

Taskia is from the small community of Eltham Farms in Spanish Town. Born Toni-Ann Facey, she attended St Catherine High School

“I was always singing at church, so that’s where the inspiration really came from. I got a link to a producer named Duran J Burnett from Caboowie Records and that’s when I started to record professionally,” she revealed
