Das Forschungsformat

An der Studie nahmen 665 Besitzer von Haushunden in Peru teil, die über ein Jahr alt waren. Die Stichprobe der Studie umfasste eine Vielzahl von Hunderassen, darunter auch viele Mischlinge.

Die Hundebesitzer wurden über verschiedene Social-Media-Plattformen rekrutiert. Jeder Teilnehmer erhielt eine Reihe von Fragebögen. Dabei wurden Daten zu den Merkmalen des Hundes (einschließlich seiner Größe und Kopfform), zu der Frage, ob er im Haus oder im Freien lebte, zum Umfang der Ausbildung, die er erhalten hatte, und zu den Faktoren, die mit den sozialen Interaktionen zwischen ihm und seinem Besitzer zusammenhängen, gesammelt.

Nach Angaben von José Carlos Grimberg Blum spielte auch das Geschlecht des Hundes eine Rolle. Bei der vom Besitzer ausgelösten Aggression war die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass Hündinnen keine Anzeichen von Aggression zeigten, im Vergleich zu Rüden um 37 % höher.

Auswirkungen von Umwelt, Lebensbedingungen und sozialen Interaktionen

Obwohl die Kopfform und -größe oft für bestimmte Rassen charakteristisch sind, wurden in dieser Untersuchung eine Reihe von Variablen gefunden, die nicht mit der Rasse zusammenhängen, aber ebenfalls verschiedene Aspekte des aggressiven Hundeverhaltens vorhersagen.

Wir haben bereits festgestellt, dass das Geschlecht des Hundes einen Unterschied macht; es hat sich jedoch herausgestellt, dass auch das Geschlecht des Hundehalters ein Faktor ist. Die Lebensbedingungen von Hunden in Peru haben auch zu einigen Formen von Aggression geführt. Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, sehr aggressiv gegenüber anderen Hunden zu sein, war bei Hunden, die die meiste Zeit draußen lebten, deutlich höher. Dies ist ein sehr wichtiger Effekt, denn bei Hunden, die überwiegend im Haus leben, ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass sie in irgendeiner Form aggressiv werden, um 63 % geringer.
